After this program, ASTRA members will have their telescopes set up in the field for nighttime stargazing. From 7:30 to 8:30, Rosemarie Spedaliere of the Astronomical Society of the Toms River Area will conduct a lecture about the mythology behind the constellations in the nighttime sky in the Northern Hemisphere. If there is inclement weather, the program will be cancelled.Īlso, on that evening are two astronomy-oriented events. The two-hour program is geared for ages nine years to adult.
On Saturday, July 15, a bird walk takes place from 8 a.m. There is a $5 registration fee for this program. Participants are asked to bring $40 in exact change for the instructor and materials. to 2 p.m., adults can create beautiful, colorful wind chimes made from pre-made kiln wine bottle glass rounds.
